A Fair Favorite -
The Dried
Flower Booth!
and don't miss the Plant Sale!
The Dried
Flower Booth
The dry
flower booth will once again offer a variety of beautiful arrangements.
You will find delphinium, larkspur, peony, straw flowers and
many other dried and silk flowers arranged in baskets, and glass
or ceramic containers. This year we will have some beautiful
wreaths.
We have lost some help this year and may not have as many arrangements
available on Fair Day, so come early!
If you would
like to help making arrangements and wreaths or are willing to
help out on the Fair Day, please call Lynne Mellinger at 275-9321,
Anna Susmann at 539-6779 or Wen-fei Uva at 275-0509.
The Plant Sale features Ellis Hollow grown perennials
(did you realize what great gardeners your neighbors are?!) and
an array of house plants in decorative pots (some of these are
really lovely, arranged in beautiful pots with polished pebbles
on top--gorgeous!).
The preliminary
list of available perennials includes epimedium, hosta, day lillies,
European ginger, grasses, astrantia, astilbe, Soloman's seal,
miniature goat's beard, pulmonaria, heuchera palace purple, yellow
loosestrife, lady's mantle, tradescantia (spiderwort), campanula
carpatica, lambs ears, euphorbia, ligularia 'the rocket', pachysandra
(buyer digs), Acanthus (Bear's breeches), Asiatic lilies, Echinacea
(cone flowers), Rudbeckia (black-eyed Susans), Japanese honeywort,
Persicaria 'red dragon', asters, and primroses.
If you would like to donate plants from your garden (many perennials
need to be divided regularly to stay healthy and flower), please
give Mary 539-7861 or Donna 539-7712 a call.
Take adventage of this chance to have an experienced gardener
help divide your perennials and support the community at the
same time!
